Technical Skills
Fieldwork experience with the Marine and Environmental Geology Research Group.
Preparation of sediment cores and samples for laboratory analysis.
Sedimentological analysis and core description (grain size analysis, facies characterization, sedimentary structures, and depositional environment interpretation).
Geochemical characterization of sediments (major and trace element analysis, climatic and paleoenvironmental proxies).
Mineralogical and microfacies analysis, including XRD and thin section observations.
XRF core scanning (Itrax Core Scanner): acquisition, calibration, and quantitative data processing for high-resolution sediment records.
Application of multivariate statistical methods in sedimentology and geochemistry.
Integration of sedimentological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets for paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic reconstructions.
Construction of robust age–depth models for multiple sediment cores using OxCal software.
Geomorphological mapping using GIS.
Marine geophysical data processing and interpretation (including seismic reflection, sub-bottom profiling, and multibeam bathymetry).
